Founded in the 12th century by hermits who soon joined the Cistercian order, the Vallbona monastery grew, built and accumulated great power throughout the medieval period. Since this splendid era, monastic life has never ceased.

So many centuries of history have decorated the cenobi with interesting treasures, reminding us that it was once one of the most important religious centers in the country. The monastery mixes Romanesque and Gothic styles, the duration of which proved more short-lived than the construction of the monastery itself.

Visit information:

• The monastery offers guided tours of the spaces open to the public at different times. 
• It is possible to organize visits for groups of 25 people or more outside of the days mentioned; to do this, contact tel. +34 973 330 266.
• You can view visiting days and times in the CALENDAR. Visiting times and days may be subject to change without notice from the community. It is recommended to check the schedule a few days before the visit.
• TICKETS: €8 general admission (from age 17), €6 reduced admission (children aged 9 to 16, groups of more than 25 people, seniors over 65, large family card holders, people with a disability certificate, and unemployed individuals with valid documentation), FREE for children aged 0 to 8.
