Poblet is the biggest monastery on the Cistercian route and the only one of the two monasteries that has a community of monks. In 1991 it was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO.

Village maintains community of monks, is an obligatory reference point in the history of Aragon. It was founded in 1150, his career was the 1835 estroncada following the seizure. With the return of the monks at Poblet in 1940 launched an ambitious restoration and preservation process that returned to the monastery the majesty it deserves.
