The Molí del Fort is an association with the purpose of, first of all, giving more voice and visibility to the historical heritage of the Molí del Fort, a building registered in the service of the Architectural Heritage of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia as "Cultural Asset of Local Interest"; and secondly, to serve society in terms of conservation and dissemination of the natural heritage of the Prades Mountains.

These are the various activities that are carried out and can be done as a family:

Visit the wildlife conservation center

We carry out guided tours for all the public who want to come and learn about all the projects that are being carried out on site at the Molí del Fort. Visitors will enter a space that has been inhabited for almost 1000 years. They will be able to observe the different activities carried out on the farm and will get to know first hand all the animals and plants that live in this place.

You can visit the following facilities: the flour mill, the paper mill, the dovecote for the bald eagle, the crayfish breeding center, the century-old hydroelectric turbine and the animal shelter.

Enter the valley of the Brugent river

Circular mountain route of about 5 km. We will leave from the town of Farena and enter the Mediterranean forest of the Protected Natural Area of "Les Muntanyes de Prades", where we will recognize the natural and cultural heritage of the area. We will arrive at the Brugent River (Catalan River Nature Reserve) and follow its course along a path until we reach the Wildlife Conservation Center of Molí del Fort. A place where we can learn about all the work that the organization does to protect the natural environment.

Bees and honey plants

We will start the trip to the Flors del Brugent farm, where the local beekeeper will explain the honey extraction process and the importance of bees for biodiversity. Afterwards, we will do a small naturalist route, in which we will go into the mountains of Prades and we will recognize the different plants and flowers that bees need to produce honey.

Environmental volunteering days

Citizen participation is one of the pillars of our projects. Because it gives more strength, visibility, credibility and support to raise awareness in society about the different factors that alter the balance of the natural environment.

The actions we carry out are:
– Waste collection campaign in the river
- Solidarity action to remove trees and vegetation from the riverbed
– Censuses of indigenous fauna
- Removal of invasive exotic species
– Improvement and rehabilitation of the wildlife conservation center

Environmental education in schools

One of the main purposes of the organization is education, dissemination and environmental awareness. This is why we carry out a series of environmental education activities in order to raise public awareness about the protection of natural heritage and biodiversity.

The tasks we perform are:
– Guided visits to the Wildlife Conservation Center
