One of the greatest representatives of Catalan modernism , the architect Josep Mª Jujol, erected a Sanctuary for the Virgin of Montserrat in the village of Montferri. Join us to discover this jewel of Camp de Tarragona, which took more than 74 years to complete.
Rural Modernism
Why did Jujol , Gaudí's collaborator , choose Montferri? How and why did you get this assignment? What problems did the town overcome until they could see the finished project?
What else?
You can walk through the village of Montferri, and reach the Cava Vives Ambròs , to taste a local product made with expertise. Or around the Gaià River , in one of the few places in the region where it is possible to cross it on flat feet.
Timetable: Monday to Sunday with prior reservation, as long as it does not interfere with the events of the Sanctuary.
Duration: 1 hour
Price: see website
