The river Gaià is walled with medieval castles, watchtowers and unknown hermitages. In the Ermita del Loreto de Bràfim , and in the Santuari de Montferri you will also discover the spirituality of Josep M. Jujol, the Tarragona architect who brought modernism to Camp de Tarragona.
The Water Hermitages
With this experience we discover the importance of water and the Gaià River in Jujol's work in the Alt Camp, and in his life. Be sure to look in detail at the original paintings and wood carvings in the apse of the Ermita del Loreto, the work of Jaume Perelló . a universal Catalan who has spread his work throughout Europe and America. In addition, you can visit the cave of the Virgin of Montserrat, our Moreneta, and see her on the hill of the Sanctuary of Montferri.
