The Regional Historical Archive is an institution created in 1983 that gathers 17 municipal funds (especially that of Valls), the notarial fund of the district, that of the Impremta Castells, the documentation on the Veciana family, which held the command of the Esquadres de Catalunya until 1836 (arrival by different routes) and the Mercadé collection, which contains the manuscript of the Llibre de les Grandeses de Tarragona by Ponç d'Icard, among others.
