Reial Monestir de Santes Creus

Reial Monestir de Santes Creus

The Reial Monestir de Santes Creus is located near the Gaià river. It is a monastic Cistercian assembly founded in 1158, which had monastic life until the year 1835. The monastery church conserves the royal tombs of Pere el Gran, Jaume II and his wife Blanca d'Anjou, and of Admiral Roger de Llúria. The plant organizes the spaces according to the needs of the community, spaces where visitors can relieve the monastic life: the chapter room, the bedroom, the Gothic cloister or the church. There is also the possibility to visualize the scenic and audiovisual installation "The world of the Cistercian".
